[SKYBOX VR] Update: MVC 3D Decoding, Precise Seeking, USB Optimization and More!

First off, thank you for your support and invaluable feedback!

We just released a new beta build with some improvements and bug fixes. You can update or manually switch to the "Preview 2.0.0" channel to test it out.

New

Supported MVC 3D decoding: You can play 3D Blu-ray content now!
Added "Precise Seeking" toggle: In Global Settings > Playback panel, you can enable the "Precise Seeking" toggle to fast forward or rewind to the exact frame instead of key frame.
Allowed secondary account holders to access Multi-Player mode and YouTube.

Improved

Expanded character limit in input fields: You can enter more characters in address or password fields.
Improved read speed for NTFS & exFAT formatted USB drives.
Supported Dolby Vision videos in MKV format.

Fixed

Fixed some hardware decoding issues with certain ISOs.
Fixed excessively bright or overexposed issues with certain videos.
Fixed audio latency issues with Bluetooth earphones.

Sneak peek: Passthrough video(video background removal) is in development. And we're trying to enhance 3D ISO playback smoothness.

Have just tested the 'MVC 3D Decoding' feature and am pleased to report that it all works fine albeit with a requirement to manually adjust the video settings to '3D-SBS' for every session/film (on account of how the Skybox player displays frame-packed MVC files in side-by-side format). But at least I can now watch my MVC files in Skybox.

Well done to the Skybox boffins.

You can add the keyword "Full_SBS" or "fullsbs" in the file/folder name and see if it helps. SKYBOX will automatically turn on "Full SBS Matching" if it detects the keyword.

I would also suggest moving the "full SBS" setting in the Skybox options to the "stereo mode" option menu instead of the current location in the "advanced settings" menu. It just makes more sense there and is hard to find in the other menu, which is already too long.

Hi, I have ripped a 3D bluray ("Valerian") with Makemkv to a mkv-file (with the MVC-track ticked). I put the 36GB-file onto a NTFS-formatted USB-stick and tried to play it with Skybox 2.0, but it stutters heavily. In settings 3D is not showing active though 3D effect is visible.
If I use the backup option in MakeMKV and convert to ISO with Imgburn, copy that to USB and try to play, it plays fine, but only in 2D - even if I choose 3D in the Bluray menu. I also tried another 3D Bluray ("Gravity"), same result.

Other 3D movies in SBS-encoding play fine (though they are in lower resolution). Also 2D in 4k plays fine.
What am I doing wrong?

Could you share the download link for the 3D bluray ("Valerian")? We'll try to reproduce the issues based on the steps you mentioned and further investigate.

What's more, you can transfer the ISO file to Quest local storage, and check whether 3D effect is present when playing it locally.

Dear Lucy, sorry for the delayed answer. I can share a download link to the ISO and the MKV files I produced of the physical bluray that I own. Would that help you? But it is copyrighted material, I would prefer to PM the links

I tried to play Valerian ISO and MKV locally. It plays smoothly, but in 2D (even though 3D options are available)
