Does the skyboxVR player on OculusQuest already support 4ch ambisonic sound ?
For me it looks like it is decoding the right position as long as the source is coming from the front (0 degree).
As soon as the soundsorce is moving, it will be falsely decoded and apperas always in the front-left quadrant (mirrored on the 0-degree axis.
So, is this by chance ?
or is it not yet supported
or, which channelorder does skybox ecpect ? AmbixB (wyzx) or FumaB (wxyz) ?

playing back the same files on the oculus own player (Quest) the sound appears right .

Nope.
Currently SKYBOX does not support Ambisonic sound.
We plan to support it this year.

Lucy Is this fake news? I got told spatial audio is not supported and it also feels like that: I move my head, nothing changes. I use ambisonic audio captured by Zoom H3VR.

Hi there, I'm so sorry, for some reasons, ambisonic audio is not supported yet. This feature is on our roadmap, we'll try to support it in the future.

Lucy Oh this is pretty sad, especially binaural playback etc. enhances videos so much. Stumbled over this thread because of redditors asking about the feature.

On your roadmap for when? We are already waiting since years now 🙁

My use-case:
GoPro MAX 360 camera, to capture my precious moments
File hacking to create 360 HEVC video + 1st order Ambisonics audio
Play over wifi from my NAS on SKYBOX!!

Except... that last step interprets the audio as stereo-only... So sad.

For now, I have to copy files to the headset and play with the Quest TV app.

I'd happily pay for a premium version of SKYBOX if it supported ambisonics.
