Hello, I am trying to connect to SMB password protected server from my Oculus Go but it keeps failing to connect. When I tried to log in, it says, "You don't have permission to access this folder, please switch account and retry." I am sure account name and password is correct and has permission. I tried to log in from multiple accounts but never could access the server. Is it just not supported? Thanks in advance.

Have you attempted to access to this SMB share using the same log-in infos that you used now and successfully connect to it before in SKYBOX?
Are you using Mac or Windows PC to share via SMB please?

To troubleshoot, please use another laptop to access to your SMB and try with the username/password that you used for SKYBOX.

Thanks and looking forward to your reply.

Sorry to thread hijack, but I'm having exactly the same issue.

I can connect to the SMB share from any other device using the password and username, but Skybox always comes up with a wrong username/password error.

My SMB share is on a NAS device connected to my router.

        Thank you for reaching out.

        1. What device do you use please?
        2. Do you have special characters like <>#@!$% in your username/password please?
        3. Would you please set up a new account with username/password like "account/1234" and try it in SKYBOX?
        4. Have you been able to log into your SMB successfully before?

        Cheers.

          Hi Yum,

          1. The device that holds Skybox is a Gear VR with Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and the NAS device is a two drive Startech enclosure in raid 1. It is connected directly to my router which is an Archer C7 v5.
          2. There are no special characters
          3. I tried setting up a new account with a simple name and password (Rich / 56895689) sadly the problem persists.
          4. I can access the share on all my other devices ( 2 x windows 10 machines and my Android phone using File commander)

          Any ideas?

So the NAS provides an obligitary guest user with no password and a public folder in the SMB share. I cannot access this folder either. Even If I give the guest user a password it still fails. :(

I just tested with Pigasus and it can access all of the folders ok.

              Hi there,

              Sorry for the late reply.

How many SMB folders would appear in SKYBOX when you select Network Channel please?
Could you provide a screenshot of the Network Tab to us at contact@skybox.xyz?

Meanwhile, Please follow the steps below and send us the log file so we can check the issue:

              1. Connect your device to PC and create a file named skybox.debug under \SKYBOX path. Ignore the file format if asked.
              2. Restart SKYBOX on your device.
              3. Try to connect to your SMB with the correct username/password
              4. Finish all the steps above and send the log file /SKYBOX/SKYBOX_debug_log.txt and Android/Data/xyz.skybox.player/Files/PersistentData/OutLogs.txt to us.

Thank you and looking forward to your email.

              Cheers.

I Had the same problem, I solved it by going to the Drive/Folders Properties, and on the security Tab, edit Adding "Eveyone" (No Quotes) . That fixed it for me.
