I have a similar issue. My case is even stranger. I have as main router a RT-AX88U and as an additional AP a RT-AX82U. When i connect to WLAN of the main router and access in skypbox the SMB on a synology NAS, I have the stuttering. When I connect to the WLAN of the AP RT-AX82U, I don't see the stuttering. Very strange and I can't currently explain.
Network Topology is like this. Synology NAS is connected to a DLINK Switch with LACP Trunk. The DLINK Switch is connected to the RT-AX88U. The RT-AX88U is connected to a netgear switch in another room. The AP RT-AX82U is connected to the netgear switch.
I can currently only guess that there is probably a firmware change between the models. But would be very strange, as I don't see any other issues connected to the main router, besides of the quest 3 smb access issue with skybox. I have also tried with another player heresphere vr demo, which has long time until it has scanned the smb shares. But when it is finished access the files on the smb shares gives no issues

      Hi there,

      Thank you for your feedback!

About the stuttering issue, could you please share with us the INFO level logs?

You just need to go to SKYBOX's Global Settings, change the Logging Levels to "INFO", reproduce the issue, then click the BUG icon in the upper-right corner of Global Settings, and send us a bug report attached with logs(tick the "upload logs" box). Thank you!

        I have now more feedback.
I have tried with the stock firmware, which had given no change.
I have then noted all settings and have done a factory reset of the router and now suddenly it has started to working. I have then changing back to the merlin firmware and have added all settings back and it is still working.
I have no clue what caused this strange issue. For now it seams to work for me on the router and on the AP.
I will further test and hope it will stay that way.

The only frustrating now is that Meta has broken chromecast streaming in the latest update, but that is not relevant for this topic.

              Hi there,
i have exactly the same problems as described by the previous users: If the videos exceed a certain size, e.g. in 7680x3840 format, they are buffered at 3-5 Mb/s and playback from the LAN-connected NAS stops every few seconds. This is really extremely annoying.

I use the Metaquest3 in the same room as my WiFi6 router FritzBox 6690 and the connection is otherwise excellent.
Since the problem does not occur at all with the trial 4xvr installed, I wonder when SKYBOX will manage to fix the problem anytime soon.
Please do not ask for my log files again, as you already have one and the 4xvr program works with identical hardware.

I think I figured out a better workaround. In my Asus RT-AX58U router configuration panel for 5 GHz, if I restrict the "Channel bandwidth" setting to 40 MHz and disable 160 MHz, then everything is fast with Quest 3, just like with Quest 2. So I can use 5 GHz and AX (in facts, I restrict the wireless mode setting to "AX only", though I don't have to), and streaming is fast as long as I keep the "channel bandwidth" setting limited to 40 MHz.

PPOMOOL That helped for me, but after using it like this for a while, I noticed glitches, and while performance wasn't nearly as bad as before (simply unusable), performance still wasn't robust enough.
I tried a bunch of other settings, but could not find anything better. So I've decided to do what I was trying to avoid: a full factory reset of the router. It's a pain in the butt, as you have to rebuild the whole configuration, but eventually, it got me to a place where it appears, connections are fast and stable, and even using the 160 MHz bandwidth, which I can confirm is active ("channel width" value in the "Quest link" tab of Settings).
Let's see if I can confirm that performance is good over a longer period of time. So far, so good, but I'm more reluctant to declare victory, since yesterday did not turn out to be the way it appeared at first.
I've updated my router's firmware many times since I bought it (Current Version : 3.0.0.4.388_23925-g269b2a6): maybe the settings truly needed a reset to get the right updated default?

Hello, this is an automatic translation since I don’t speak English very well, so I apologize for any mistakes. I had the same problem and it really annoys me because the problem still persists but I solved it in such a way that on my dual-band Wi-Fi, I have set up 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi with the fact that whenever I want to watch some video content or from a LAN network, I connect to the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. And when I want to play or work, I use the 5 GHz Wi-Fi to which I connect, so I guess that’s how it works.
It is currently the most elegant solution that can be used until a fix comes. nejak tak

I have the same problem when using a quest3. I think there's something wrong with the way skybox connect to the smb share...because if I connect to the skybox installed on my windows machine, then, everything works. if I connect to the same windows 10 using smb, then it's extremely slow...so it's nothing to do with my wifi router or anything. the wifi connection is fine.
and, btw, this issue only happens when I connect to my windows 10 machine. I have a NAS, and smb share works there, nas doesn't have any problem.

my understanding is that...skybox has implemented its own smb client, right? using what? smb1? smb2, smb3? maybe there's a upgraded lib that you guys can use?
