  • [SKYBOX VR] Now you can opt in Quest Beta v1.1.0 with support for HDR and more

I noticed a new option called scale resolution in settings. What does it do?

      Hello,

Thanks so much for your detailed feedback!

Regarding the jumbled text in AirScreen channel and left hand tracking issue on Quest 1, we'll try to fix them ASAP.

Besides, your feature requests will be taken into consideration. Spatial audio will be back later. 🙂

Thanks again for your feedback. Let us know if you have any other problems.

      Best regards,
      Lucy

Some feedback from a quest 2 user!

First of all, HDR looks stunning! Fantastic work. I'm so happy I even did this side by side https://imgur.com/a/mOa5QZ6😭

Issues, some of which have already been reported:

        1. When I press the oculus button and the menu renders on top of skybox while a video is playing, I see lots of tiny graphical glitches towards the periphery of my vision (it looks like "digital dust"). I've seen this sometimes in app, but this is a sure fire way of reproducing it.

        2. Inertia when using the thumbstick to scroll up and down in the menus is very odd. It doesn't come to a stop when I expect it to.

        3. Clicking the thumbstick does not cycle between volume change and zoom change.
SUGGESTION: There's already buttons for changing audio on headset, so I don't see myself using this feature. Have the thumbstick click cycle between tilt/height/zoom/rotate when watching 180 videos, now that I would use!

        4. You added a button to hand tracking to recenter the view!! YES!! The last feature I needed to completely stop using controllers. I could cry 😭

        5. You removed the disable pinch button from hand tracking! NO!!! Gutted by this 😭 Disable pinch is your killer feature, you biggest innovation, the one thing that makes hand tracking usable in your app. I know there's only space for 5 buttons, but IMO the exit button does not need to be there. You can do it in 2 clicks. Disable pinch, recenter view and rewind/play/forward I would use constantly in a regular couch watching session

        6. Adding a network folder to favourites - fantastic addition! Reduced the number of clicks needed to access my DLNA server. Wish it was more obvious that it's there, like if it was a standalone star icon for example. But still! love it

          Hello,

Thanks so much for your detailed feedback!

Regarding HDR feature, we noticed that some videos are over-saturated and will optimize it on the next update.

As for the "digital dust" issue, can you take a screenshot of it?

Thumbstick scrolling problem was fixed on the next update. The scroll bar will stop immediately when you release the thumbstick.

Regarding the controller buttons, you can long-press the Grip button and move thumbstick up/down to zoom in/out. If you'd like to turn the volume up/down, please move thumbstick up/down. And you're not able to cycle between volume and zoom adjust by pressing thumbstick.

To let you know, disable pinch will come back later.

Comment below if you have any other problems. We'll continue to improve this beta version.

          Best regards,
          Lucy

            Hello,
On NEW version hiding videos does not work anymore. It worked in the OLD version. I copies movies to the "hide" folder, and i can see them immediately after starting the application. Please fix IT.

              Hello,

On version 1.1.0, the "hide" folder will not be automatically hidden. You need to follow the steps below to keep particular local video files hidden.

              1. Go to "Local Files" channel and choose "Directory" on the top of the interface.

              2. Open the folder you want to hide.

              3. Click the "wrench" icon on the upper-right corner and tap "Hide Current Folder".

              4. Click "Global Settings" at the bottom of the interface and turn off the switch "Show hidden files". Here you need to set/enter a four-digit passcode.

Then, the hidden files/folders will disappear from the Directory and History as well (even after restarting SKYBOX).
They will not show up unless you turn on the switch "Show hidden files" and enter the correct passcode.

Let us know if you have any other problems and concerns.

              All the best,
              Lucy

I get no center speaker on the quest 1. Quest 2 has the center speaker. This is with 5.1ch media.

                  Yum Quest 2 here..
Would it be possible to add a [Help] in settings that would list controller button assignments. Might also be a good place to explain to users how to stream, and other featuers.
                  Thanks

Thanks for the overdue update beta..
But it has a lot of unfavorable issues. Please release next one.

The Zoom control option is not good. Where there a lot of complaints?
The hidden files option , why was that changed?

                        Hello,

Regarding the hidden folder on beta 1.1.0, you can keep some local video files hidden by following the steps below:

                        1. Go to "Local Files" channel and choose "Directory" on the top of the main menu.
                        2. Open the folder you want to hide.
                        3. Click the "wrench icon"🔧 on the upper-right corner and tap "Hide Current Folder".
                        4. Click "Global Settings" at the bottom of the main menu and turn off the switch "Show hidden files". Here you need to set/enter a four-digit passcode.

Hope that helps. Let us know if you have any other problems. Your feedback is always welcomed!

                        Kind regards,
                        Lucy

Lucy Thanks you for correcting the void environnement, now I really hope you will consider my second request!

Lucy These instructions for keeping local video files hidden do not work. Under step 3, when I click on the wrench icon, there is no option for "Hide Current Folder". Please advise.

ewok79 It's disheartening to see this posted almost a year ago. It's very distracting. I love Skybox, but there's a few things that could really use attention. I've paid for it twice now, and don't mind, but I hope you can get some improvements out soon.
