Hi there, no 3D spatial audio support any more?

    Hi there,
We are still working on this feature and it will be released in the future beta.
    Thank you for your patience.

    thanks you finally with HDR!
On quest 1, the hdr movie have a noticeable constant stutter during playback, hope it gets solved for the release. Files are from a plex dlna local share

    • Lucy replied to this.

I appreciate the new release, but I've noticed stutter on Quest 2 also, like @roy79 (I tried both DLNA and SMB). In addition, scrubbing / jumping back and forward in time is much slower than before (as if the video was buffering for 1-2 seconds) and tends to cause stutter after the video resumes where it was almost instant and did not cause any stutter in previous versions, with the same (7-8K) video files.

Another thing that's bothering me with the new beta is the weird scroll momentum that was seemingly added in lists. It's unlike all other lists on Quest and one must stop it manually using the joystick to avoid overscroll.

I'll add any more feedback after I test it some more.

I noticed a little delay with the environmental illumination, when a bright scene switches over to a dark scene, you still can recognize the light reflections (on the theatre walls) of the bright light from the scene before, just like for a millisecond. Not very long, but for me noticeable enough to loose the immersion of sitting in a real cinema, cause that little light lag kicks me out each time when I see it ^^. Otherwise, without that little bug, immersion would be perfect! My device is quest 2 and I watched a 1080p 3D movie which I put in the oculus storage.
example (1 frame after scenecut you still see the bright illumination from scene 1 but in the dark scene 2):

Hello, when you are watching HDR videos, the constant stuttering may due to Quest 1 performance.

            Hello,

Thanks so much for your feedback!

We're trying to fix the stuttering issues when you play videos via SMB.

As for the scroll control, we're adjusting this feature. You can try it out on our next update.

Let us know if you have any other problems.

            All the best,
            Lucy

              Hello,

After testing the v1.1.0 on the quest 2, I have two suggestions concerning the watching of flat movies in the void environnement specifically:

              • With the previous versions , I used to watch movies in the void environnement, with the lowest lightning setting to make everything but the video disappear. But with this new version, the background and the stars are still visible at the lowest setting, and I find the visible elements very distracting. Could you make the lowest setting work like the previous versions to get a totally black environnement?

              • Like I suggest in a other discussion on this forum, I still have the problem with the vertical position of the screen when watching non vr videos. I personnaly find that the position of the screen to be too high, which make watching long video uncomfortable and less immersive. I tried to bypass this problem by using the experimental option in the menu of the quest 2 " Raise View" which allow raise your viewing height by 0.4 meters, but it is not enough. Could you add a similar option in skybox which would raise the view at the middle vertical height of the screen? It would be already a lot better. Or maybe a slider to modify the vertical position of the screen in addition to the already available tilt slider?

                Hello,

Thanks so much for your feedback!

We'll make an adjustment about the Void environment. You can try it out when the next update releases.

As for the second issue you mentioned, we'll take that into consideration.

Let us know if you have any problems or suggestions.

                All the best,
                Lucy

Just trying this now and playback seems to be much better, not freezing and stuttering all the time.

I note that you have changed the controller mapping so that moving the joystick up and down now controls the volume. I’d much rather have the joystick control the camera. Can’t we have it so that, moving the joystick up and down, tilts the camera up and down, it would feel much more instinctive that way.

With latest release smb playback is back to normal. No more stuttering. Thnaks for fixing!

Unfortunateley the app now freezes sometimes when trying to skip to next file or open a file.
After some time the app closes automatically then. If you reopen the app everything works for some time

Hi, with the latest update multi-channel audio on the Quest 1 isn't working correctly. It sounds as if the center and possible FL and FR aren't playing correctly. This is both with the built-in speakers and all Bluetooth headsets I've used. The same multi-channel audio works correctly on the Quest 2.

Also, the text when you select the ?/help option for AirScreen shows jumbled text on the Quest 1. I haven't yet checked on the Quest 2. The text is partially stacked on top of each other.

Lastly, on the Quest 1, when using hand tracking, the left-hand options menu (pinching index finger and thumb together for 3 seconds) doesn't bring up the menu. The right-hand Oculus menu option works correctly. I have not yet tested this with the Quest 2.

Overall I like the 1.1.0 update. I can't wait for Spatial audio to be added back. I like the new touches as well. Things like pinning SMB locations as side menu options for quick access. Zoom in and out works well too. One request I have is to add the ability to define how the SMB content is listed for each pinned location. For instance, I have a lot of 3D movies and my preference is to sort them in ascending order and based on date. That way I can view the latest movies that I added first. I also prefer to have (UHD) TV Shows listed in alphabetical and numerical order. A small items but I think it would be a nice touch.

I noticed a new option called scale resolution in settings. What does it do?

Some feedback from a quest 2 user!

First of all, HDR looks stunning! Fantastic work. I'm so happy I even did this side by side https://imgur.com/a/mOa5QZ6😭

Issues, some of which have already been reported:

                              1. When I press the oculus button and the menu renders on top of skybox while a video is playing, I see lots of tiny graphical glitches towards the periphery of my vision (it looks like "digital dust"). I've seen this sometimes in app, but this is a sure fire way of reproducing it.

                              2. Inertia when using the thumbstick to scroll up and down in the menus is very odd. It doesn't come to a stop when I expect it to.

                              3. Clicking the thumbstick does not cycle between volume change and zoom change.
SUGGESTION: There's already buttons for changing audio on headset, so I don't see myself using this feature. Have the thumbstick click cycle between tilt/height/zoom/rotate when watching 180 videos, now that I would use!

                              4. You added a button to hand tracking to recenter the view!! YES!! The last feature I needed to completely stop using controllers. I could cry 😭

                              5. You removed the disable pinch button from hand tracking! NO!!! Gutted by this 😭 Disable pinch is your killer feature, you biggest innovation, the one thing that makes hand tracking usable in your app. I know there's only space for 5 buttons, but IMO the exit button does not need to be there. You can do it in 2 clicks. Disable pinch, recenter view and rewind/play/forward I would use constantly in a regular couch watching session

                              6. Adding a network folder to favourites - fantastic addition! Reduced the number of clicks needed to access my DLNA server. Wish it was more obvious that it's there, like if it was a standalone star icon for example. But still! love it

                                Hello,

Thanks so much for your detailed feedback!

Regarding HDR feature, we noticed that some videos are over-saturated and will optimize it on the next update.

As for the "digital dust" issue, can you take a screenshot of it?

Thumbstick scrolling problem was fixed on the next update. The scroll bar will stop immediately when you release the thumbstick.

Regarding the controller buttons, you can long-press the Grip button and move thumbstick up/down to zoom in/out. If you'd like to turn the volume up/down, please move thumbstick up/down. And you're not able to cycle between volume and zoom adjust by pressing thumbstick.

To let you know, disable pinch will come back later.

Comment below if you have any other problems. We'll continue to improve this beta version.

                                Best regards,
                                Lucy

                                  Hello,
On NEW version hiding videos does not work anymore. It worked in the OLD version. I copies movies to the "hide" folder, and i can see them immediately after starting the application. Please fix IT.

                                    Hello,

On version 1.1.0, the "hide" folder will not be automatically hidden. You need to follow the steps below to keep particular local video files hidden.

                                    1. Go to "Local Files" channel and choose "Directory" on the top of the interface.

                                    2. Open the folder you want to hide.

                                    3. Click the "wrench" icon on the upper-right corner and tap "Hide Current Folder".

                                    4. Click "Global Settings" at the bottom of the interface and turn off the switch "Show hidden files". Here you need to set/enter a four-digit passcode.

Then, the hidden files/folders will disappear from the Directory and History as well (even after restarting SKYBOX).
They will not show up unless you turn on the switch "Show hidden files" and enter the correct passcode.

Let us know if you have any other problems and concerns.

                                    All the best,
                                    Lucy
