Video lag every 3-5 seconds since update on Oculus Quest 1

Hi Lucy!

No, I run macOS Big Sur 11.6.

The only thing that changed in my setup since everything was ok is the Skybox app on the oculus. So I'm extremely confused. Never had those problems. The lagging starts at the latest when I skip in the videos. only 5 sec forward and then it will lag after about 5 seconds for about a second. And it will go on. everything else works. I have no problems with my connection over wlan. all devices run the 5Ghz network. Any ideas? And how do I create a log file under macOS?

Hi Lucy! Sorry for all the replys. It seems to work via network sharing. But the skybox app ask for a username and password to connect to the mac. What username and password is meant here?

So I hope the last time now 😉
DLNA is working now. I can stream via DLNA. And it seems that there is no lagging in the videos. I tried it again via Airscreen and every video is lagging there. So I think there is a problem in the latest update of the skybox player in case of streaming via Airscreen...

I tried Pigasus Player and have no issues with streaming via smb. No lagging there. It must be a problem with the latest update of skybox vr. smb and airscreen are lagging...

Please just uninstall and reinstall SKYBOX on your Quest after you accept the beta invitation.

The fix version will be released in the next few days. And we will definitely keep you updated once it releases.

Also, we'd much appreciated it if you can send us the log files so we can better locate the issue and fix it.

Hi Lucy!
I just un- and reinstalled the skybox player. I checked the version number in the settings and just see the number 1.0.5.
I only had time to check the airscreen and it is still lagging like before. I will try the rest on saturday. But unfortunately it seems that the problem is still there.

Hey Marty,

Please fast click "CHANNELS" for five times and the version number will appear in red. You should be using version 1.0.5(429) now.

The new beta 1.0.5(429) should fix SMB related issues. We haven't changed anything about AirScreen so far.

BTW, are the videos laggy when you stored them on your Quest and watch them locally?

Hi Lucy! Sorry for the late replay. I was on a vacation. Today I checked the Player again. I have now 1.0.5 (438) installed. There is still a lag in every video via Airscreen. I have no issues with Files directly on the Oculus Quest or with other players. But it seems, that over SMB the lagging is gone. I tried it for about 10 Minutes and it seems to work. But its to early to feel safe 😉

Via AirScreen there are still lags every 5 Seconds (the Video and sound stops for 1 Second). And if I try to fast skip 5 Seconds, there is an input lag for 1 Second. Then it skips and 5 Seconds later you have the lag.

I hope for a fix soon.

Lagging at SMB is back...what a pitty!

I tried it with the internal memory and the pigasus player again. No lagging there...
