I have been a beta tester for GearVR for quite a while now, but during the last 2 months, I've made a full transition over to the Linux operating system because of a particular security event that had occurred, which forced me to leave Windows probably forever.
As such, I've noticed that there are very limited available solutions on Linux for streaming content onto GearVR and in the way I've grown used to with Skybox and all of its features (doubt there will ever be anything to even come close to it).
I hope plans for developing Linux integration is still being considered, though, it doesn't seem to be. The last mention of it was from another Feature Request way back in January of last year. I guess I'll just have to make do with regular, normal, boring 2D videos for now.
