Is there any way you could store a local cache of the thumbnails on the device (in my case a Samsung Note 8)? Today it takes several minutes before all the thumbnails of my roughly 500 files have been loaded. I realize that this probably can't be a default setting, but maybe something that we could activate in the settings.

    Hi,

The loading can be slow and affect the normal usage sometimes if many new files are discovered.
But once that is done, you shouldn't encounter the long loading again because SKYBOX does keep a local thumbnail cache.
Sorry for your inconvenience. We will try to optimize this loading process.

        Hi there,

If you are using Android's pre-installed Gallery, then the local thumbnails will not be displayed.
We flag the folder which contains the thumbnails as not being detected by Android's Gallery.

However, if you are using a third-party photo-recognized app, then there's no guarantee that the thumbnails are hidden well. Because these kind of apps are trying to read every photo file in the local storage.

We suggest to manually select off the directory (/xyz.skybox.player/cache/) if you use third-party apps.

        Hope this info helps.

        Cheers,

It seems to me, that there is no thumbnail-cache for videos displayed over the kodi-krypton media-server.
At least i found no cache directory. And i am using a filemanager who does display hidden directories.

I found the local cache directory - it seems that it is based on filenames only? That is, it will show the same thumbnail for two different files with the same names? Also it will show the old thumbnail even after the content of the file has changed?
