Youtube video not playing (research result)

Hello,

Since around 3 weeks or so, Youtube videos stopped working (error message could not load the video) when trying to load a video from search results.

Strangely enough, Youtube videos displayed from the start menu are loading perfectly.

No idea what is wrong, I tried to clear the cache, to reinstall the app but nothing is working.

Moving from V63 to V64 update for Quest 3 did not help either.

Thanks for your feedback. We have fixed the YouTube playback issues in the latest version 1.1.7(2568).

Please click SKYBOX's Global Settings, turn on Show Stats to check the version number. If you're not using the latest version, please update the app.

Thank you, it worked, the problem was that I opted in the beta channel and it never moved to 1.1.7(2568) from the previous version if anyone is facing the same problem.

Hello,

We fixed the YouTube buffering issue in v1.1.8(2654). You can switch to v1.1.8 channel and have a try.

On Quest store, login your Meta account, find SKYBOX VR Player, scroll down the page, then you will find "Version", please click the dropdown menu to select "v1.1.8 Release: 1.1.8".

On your Quest, find SKYBOX VR Player in your App Library, click the three dots on the upper-right corner of SKYBOX. Then you will find the Update button. Just click it and wait for the installation.

Haven't used Skybox for a while since today where Youtube Video does not work. Version 1.18 (latest version) installed, on top of that the latest version for my Quest 3.

Before (2 months ago...) all worked perfectly fine, now it almost does except for Youtube Video (2D, 3D, VR ...) which does not want to play.

I re-installed Skybox but that did not help.

Hi, you can search videos in YouTube tab and see if it works now. If some videos still can't be played, we hope you can wait for the next update. We're actively working on fixing the YouTube issues. Sorry for the inconvenience.

We fixed the YouTube issue in beta v1.1.9, please switch to the beta version and see if it works.

On Quest store, login your Meta account, find SKYBOX VR Video Player, scroll down the page, click the dropdown menu next to "Version" and select "v1.1.9 Release: 1.1.9”.

On your Quest, find SKYBOX in your App Library, click the three dots on the upper-right corner of SKYBOX, then click the Update button and wait for the installation.

Hi Lucy,

I can see the Steam version is still v1.1.8.

Any chance the steam version can be updated to the v1.1.9?

I am having the same issue but need to use the steam version as I am using PSVR2.
