Hi,
I bought Skybox vr on both meta quest store and steam but i would like to use the stand alone app to bypass pc and watch film on my NAS.
I think the way skybox vr doesn't handle the dark parts of the videos very well.
By default with contrast at zero the details in the dark areas are completely absent and everything is merged into one black area.
Decreasing the contrast improves this but unfortunately makes everything very gray.
I also tried the skybox vr version on steam and I must say that it handles the problem better but still not completely . As mentioned I would prefer to use the standalone app.
In the attached image example, I compare with bigscreen steam version. Which according to me handles the dark areas better.
I think skybox is more powerful and I would like to use this as a player that's why I ask if it can be improved.
In the example picture I brought the contrast to -2. As you can see you start to see the details of the beard, the shirt and from the shaded part near the eye. Unfortunately the image does not give the exact idea of what I see with quest 3 but the immgine is washed out and the darks are very grayish. By further decreasing the contrast the dark parts of the videos become completely gray.
Thank you
