SMB / MakeMKV 3D choppy playback on quest 3

Just got quest 3 and sky box player because of SMB and MKV support. While full 4k quality, i mean 60GB files play smoothly, 3D playback is very choppy and 3d is not active, Forcing 3d setting doesn't help. Am i doing something wrong or missing a step? Do i need to change filenames? pls help.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused!

We recently received some reports about the laggy playback over SMB on Quest 3. Some users said that the same video played smoothly on Quest 2 and Quest Pro, however, the playback was very choppy on Quest 3.

We guess there are some universal problems about SMB streaming on Quest 3. And we're contacting Meta to work on the problems.

Besides, do you mean you can't see the 3D effect when playing a 3D video? It would be better if you can send us the INFO level logs.

You just need to go to SKYBOX's Global Settings(at the bottom of the main interface), change the Logging Levels to "INFO", reproduce the issue, then click the BUG icon in the upper-right corner of Global Settings, and send us a bug report attached with logs(tick the "upload logs" box).

I want to also add that sound plays fine, the video stream stutters. It not a bandwidth issue since I can play 4k movies of same SMB server.

Hello,

The choppy playback is likely due to network issues. Could you please copy the 3D video to Quest internal storage, and play it locally? If the video plays smoothly from local storage, the issue may have something to do with network speed or the signal of Quest 3.

Besides, when you click Stereo Mode and manually select "3D SBS", can you see the 3D effect of you video?
