Also wanting this passthrough for video added to a future release. The next wave of videos are green or gray (or dark) background and will dominate. Skybox has been my favorite VR video player.. but can’t be used with this next phase of VR.

SKYBOX beta v1.1.6 fixed the hand tracking issue for you. You can switch to the new beta v1.1.6 and have a try.

The steps to switch channels:

Visit SKYBOX VR Player product detail page with browser or Meta Quest mobile app. (Make sure you login to your Facebook/Meta account)
Click "Version" and select "v1.1.6 Release: 1.1.6"
Uninstall and reinstall SKYBOX on your Quest.

How to use pass-trough mode? How to enable?

Hello, sorry that you can't view the videos with color background in passthrough mode right now. The Passthrough feature now only works for the UI, which means you can see a real-time view of your surroundings.

Hello @Lucy , any roadmap to implement the feature to support passtrough within the videos? That is something offered by other free app such as Playavr. I was expecting to find such useful feature also here. It would be nice to have the feature to be working automatically or with a manual color selection.

Hi there,

This feature is not included in the Live version. If you'd like to try it out, please manually switch to the beta version.

On your Quest 2 or Quest 3, go to Quest Settings > Privacy & safety > Installed app > find SKYBOX VR Video Player > click Release Channels > select "2.0.0 Preview" and install the update.

After open a passthrough video, you just need to click "Advanced Settings" and enable the "Passthrough Video" toggle. Then SKYBOX will remove the background from a scene using Chroma Key Passthrough or Alpha Channel Passthrough.

Sadly the beta version 2.0.0 Preview does not find my local DLNA server. I can click only on recent opened files and stream those.
I can't browse the DLNA server.
Also left hand tracking is not working, I am force to use my right hand.

Hi there, we're working on a fix for the hand tracking bugs, and we will include the fix in an upcoming update.

About the DLNA issue, could you please tell us which DLNA server you are using and provide the "Info" level log?

To send the log, please follow the steps below:

Click SKYBOX's "Global Settings", change the "Logging Levels" to "Info".
Reproduce the issue you mentioned.
Click the "BUG" icon in the upper-right corner of "Global Settings".
Tick the "upload logs" box, and submit the in-app feedback. Thanks!

Hello, thank you for your reply.

We tested this server on our end and were able to access it and play videos without problems.

Please ensure your Quest headset and the server are connected to the same local network. And make sure the DLNA service is enabled on your server. If the connection issue still remains, please click SKYBOX's "Global Settings" and turn on "Show Stats" to check the version number.

Thanks. Now everything works, watched successfully "Angel Of Nurse [Passthrough]".
But the right hand tracking is a huge show stopper for me. When this is fixed? I am left hand guy.
