[SKYBOX VR] Quest BETA v1.1.4: Supported Passthrough, Fisheye190°, and more

Hey everyone,

We've released SKYBOX v1.1.4(BETA) in Quest store. This update includes some highly-requested features. You can test the new features and improvements by switching to the beta channel.

What's new in v1.1.4:

Supported Passthrough
Added Quick Access channel to show pinned folders
Optimized controllers & hand tracking
Optimized fisheye support
Optimized dynamic lighting

You can turn on/off Passthrough in Global Settings. What's more, this version supports Fisheye190° videos. You can manually select the "VR180", "VR190" and "VR200" formats in Stereo Mode.

To switch channels:

Go to Quest Store via webpage or Meta Quest mobile app, and find SKYBOX VR Player. (Make sure you login to your Facebook/Meta account)
Scroll down and you'll find "Language", "Version", "Developer", etc.
Click on the down arrow sign next to “Version” and select "v1.1.4 Beta: 1.1.4" 
Uninstall and reinstall SKYBOX on your Quest.

The auto-popped transmission speed seems annoying. Frequently came out without noticabe chpping or lagging.

The transmission speed keeps popping up and often remains on the screen. Sometimes stopping and starting the video makes it go away. Not sure what it is meant to achieve, but it would be good to have a menu option to switch it off completely. This is on a Quest 2. I don't use hand tracking.

In fact, the transmission speed often remains on the screen and will not disappear. This is for videos that appear to play without any network or playback problems.

The requirement of passthrough is forcing me to look at rolling back and maybe even looking for a new app. I have been using Skybox for years because it allows you to watch how you want to, not how the app wants you to.

Seems like v1.1.4 live has rolled out. A few bugs seemed fixed like the power icon showing zero% and video not playing - audio only.
But I noticed when the next video begins to play the control panel pops up for a few seconds. Previous versions were not doing this. I wouldn't mind if we could reposition the panel so it wasn't in the video area of flat videos. Most annoying. especially with videos under 10 sec. Better to either give us a setting to disable the panel popup or just go back to the old behavior.

Wow alot of bugs on this new update. The pop up transmission speed not going away..loosing emersion by have to keep clicking out if it. And the app only working while tracking turned on?? This is a horrible update and needs to be fixed asap. About to be done with skybox which is really a shame

Jenny Thank you Jenny. I had rolled back to 1.1.2 but last night the app updated itself, and I was surprised to see the network speed no longer appeared. Thank you for sorting that out. The app is useable again for me 😃

Is there a way to fix the trackbar to stop popping up everytime you screen adjust during video?

Hello, regarding the issue (control panel will pop up when you drag the screen), we'll fix it in the beta channel ASAP. Please tell us(contact@skybox.xyz) your Oculus registered email, then we'll send you the beta invitation.

A public beta channel is now available. You can manually switch to the beta channel to try out the fixed version.
