Filename Rules for VR Format

Not sure if this is the correct thread, but why is Skybox renaming all of my TV Shows on the Oculus Quest? I'm watching them change as it renames them. How do I turn this feature off? Hovering shows nothing. For example,

Before renaming:
Batwoman.S01E01.mkv
Batwoman.S01E02.mkv
Batwoman.S01E03.mkv

After renaming:
Batwoman
Batwoman
Batwoman

As you can see all of the season and episode numbers are now missing for some 75 TV shows that I have stored. I just want it to go back to the way I have the files saved on the drive. I don't need them renamed.

Yum reodi007 makes a good suggestion. I've the same issue when watching VR videos on SteamVR and needs to adjust Zoom and Angle everytime.

I've been renaming my locally installed 360 VR / 3D files on the Oculus Quest 2 with very good success. I've encountered a few files that I am not certain how to properly name. They are YouTube 360 VR, MKV files. Normally, I just append EAC360 to the end of the file. These particular files require me to manually choose YouTube and then side-by-side in order to play. I tried to name them as EAC360_SBS.mkv but this doesn't seem to resolve the issue. Is there a proper way to name the files?

Andy I completely agree with readonly@ Have you given this any additional consideration? I find myself having to set most videos to 180 and side by side. I do not want to have to edit the filenames to make sure they are some format, and it would be easy enough to manually change in the rare circumstance that it's not a 180 side by side.

There's a good chance that anyone is going to be watching files of the same format, so being able to set the default format in settings would probably be perfect.

Is there any way to indicate the more advanced display settings via filename?
Specifically, I want to set the 'swap left/right' advanced setting via filename.

Hello, please click Stereo Mode button on the right side of the control panel, select "Fisheye" option, then you'll find the VR190° option. In the next update, we'll add file naming for Fisheye190° videos.

is the DLNA filename recognision feature still not implemented? Because if I play a x265 encoded FULL SBS movie (f.e. named "Ready Player One (2018) {edition-3D-SBS} [2160p.x265].3d.sbs.mkv" first Part in {} is only for the Plex edition label), it is recognized as HALF SBS and not FULL SBS.

Please add the keywords "Full_SBS" or "fullsbs" in the filename and see if it works. Here is the new naming rule.

So my new filename is "moviename.3d.fullsbs.mkv" and when I play it through my SMB network share it is getting recognized as full SBS but when I play it through the Plex server DLNA it gets recognized as half SBS. I´d prefer using the Plex DLNA for browsing my movies since it displays the correct poster/names etc..

Hi there,

Plex DLNA may change the filename. Has the filename ("moviename.3d.fullsbs.mkv") changed when you play it from Plex DLNA on your Quest?

If the filename changed, SKYBOX may fail to recognize the file as FULL SBS. If the filename is still showed as "moviename.3d.fullsbs.mkv", SKYBOX should correctly recognize it as FULL SBS.

it seems like plex is only sending the following over DLNA: "moviename (release-year)". So that explains it. Seems like I have to manually select the 3d settings.

I am using Quest2 and Pro to create and use my own side-by-side 3D VR videos.

What I want
Add the following items to the file name rules: "Height adjustment", "Scale adjustment", and "Image curve on/off" in the 2D image adjustment items.

Reason
When HDM viewpoint recordings of VR games, etc. are converted to a general VR format, extensive truncation occurs.

Example:
Quest2 (PC-VR recording)
--> 3D-VR ... 63% truncation occurs in the vertical direction
--> VR180 ... No loss

QuestPro (PC-VR recording)
--> 3D-VR ... 62% truncation occurs in the vertical direction
--> VR180 ... Almost no loss

By converting to VR180, I can create videos with almost no degradation in the viewing angle, but the conversion takes a very long time, so I personally would like to avoid it.
3D-VR videos have a narrow viewing angle by default, making them difficult to use, but by using SKYBOX's "Scale adjustment" and "Height adjustment," the drawback of a reduced video display range can be greatly reduced.
However, the "Scale adjustment" and "Height adjustment" values when playing videos change depending on the HMD used to record.
Therefore, when watching videos alternately on Quest 2 and Quest Pro, the "Scale adjustment" and "Height adjustment" settings must be reset each time they are played. I would like to eliminate this.

When displaying normal 2D images, the "Scale adjustment," "Height adjustment," and "Image curve on/off" settings are also changed, so I would like to request that they be added to the file name rules if possible.

The following videos require SKYBOX 1.1.9 or later to play except for VR180 format.
