  • [SKYBOX VR] Quest v1.1.1: Overlay, custom thumbnails, volume booster and more

Skybox VR does a great job, and when it comes to adding support for webdav playback, it's perfect!

Since updating to latest beta, browsing by directory is extremely slow during playback. After a restart of Oculus client, files in directory do not show up at all and videos must be played via "All Files" menu (which, oddly enough, has 0 playback issues).

Since updating to Quest v49 PTC, I can't seem to enable pro hd mode- the toggle works, but it doesn't seem to do anything.

I've also tried a reinstall including deleting all app data.

The other issue I have, which existed before I updated to v49 is that when connecting to my Dlna server (serviio), the first time I item a folder it shows everything in reverse alphabetical order. Backing out and re-entering the folder (without resorting or anything) puts everything in the correct order. I'm not discounting the possibility that it's a problem on my end but I have no idea what it'd be.

Additionally- my other Dlna clients work correctly including my desktop install of Skybox (Oculus store version)

I have this issue too when opening a folder with new files in that folder showing them in a strange order, and the folders also seem very sluggish compared to previous versions. This version seems very buggy to me.

xAstroBoy We've reproduced the lag issue when switching to fisheye view. Our developer will try fixing it in the next few updates.

Hi, we noticed that there're some frame drops when you open a new directory(folder not be cached). We'll try fixing it later.
If files do not show up when you launch SKYBOX on your Quest, please tell us how many files you have in the folder? Btw, do you play videos via SMB, DLNA or AirScreen?
You can try the new version v1.1.1(614) and see whether the files show up when you restart the app.

              How to install Quest v1.1.1?

I can only see and download 1.0.5 from the Oculus Store

To change version, please follow the steps:

                1. Go to Oculus Store through webpage or Oculus phone app. (make sure you login your account)

                2. Scroll down and find "Version + Release Notes", click the down arrow and select your preferred version.

                3. Uninstall and reinstall SKYBOX on your Quest.

After this update, some of my video files will not play fully. A portion of the video will play and then it will skip to next video. I've tried multiple times and it seems that the videos are stopping at a certain point each time. For example, in video file "A", if the video cuts off at the 4 minute mark, that video will continue to cutoff at the same point every time playback is attempted.

Am I the only one experiencing this issue?

I can't see any of my folder in directory mode. It just comes up empty, but I can access them normally from the Files tab. Any ideas what's up with that? I rather use the previous version, is there a quick way to roll the update back?

Control Hello, thanks for your feedback! Do you stream videos from computer to Quest via AirScreen? If so, please share with us(contact@skybox.xyz) your Oculus registered email to join Beta channel. The problem was fixed in the new Beta v1.1.2.

If you want to roll back to previous version:

                      1. Go to Oculus Store via webpage or Oculus phone app, and find SKYBOX VR Player. (Make sure you login your Facebook/Meta account)
                      2. Scroll down and you'll find "Language", "Version", "Developer", etc.
                      3. Click on the down arrow sign next to “Version” and select your preferred version.
                      4. Uninstall and reinstall SKYBOX on your Quest 2.
