Hi! I'm a beta tester for the Steam 1.1.0 beta, and first of all I want to say that I've used the Oculus SKYBOX VR version for about four years and I love it, but I have often had issues with playback, including studdering and the "tearing" effect. I am very happy to report that this Steam version (which is the first time I've tried it on Steam, and is beta 1.1.0) so far seems to have NONE of the playback issues I've had with the Oculus version. Thank you SO MUCH for working on and fixing those issues! In case you find it relevant, I was playing 3D 180 degree videos from an SMB-mounted Drobo NAS.
Like I said, I am very familiar with the Oculus version which lets me "click" once to show an in-video pop-up menu to seek to a new position in the vldeo, etc. Also, in that Oculus version I can click and drag to quickly recenter the video precisely where I'd like it--my favorite feature of SKYBOX VR! Importantly, in that Oculus version, if I click and drag to recenter, when I release then it DOES NOT also pop up the in-video menu. There is no need to do so if I was just clicking and dragging to set the center position, so that behavior is perfect.
Unfortunately, if I do the same click-and-drag to reposition in the Steam beta 1.1.0 version, then very often (but not always) when I release after the drag the in-video menu pops up. There is no reason for that menu to ever pop up after a click and drag, and I find it disruptive, forcing me to wait for the menu to time out before I can properly begin to view the video again.
I found a few issues with the beta version but this one is the most annoying, so I am reporting it first. I hope you understand what I mean, and you are able to figure out why it happens and fix it. Let me know if you need more detail. I have a Rift S, and when I click and drag I have tried both the trigger button, and the A button, and both behave the same way and show the same issue.
Thank you!
