Deleted Files

Maybe its a one off, but I opened skybox on my windows PC to a prompt there was an update. Decided to update before getting immersed in the virtual reality world, but within a fraction of a second my files all disappeared off my external hard drive and the new skybox install gave me multiple update failure notices. I lost about 1TB of data that I cannot recover or feasibly replace . I have tried multiple recovery methods but nothing has worked so far. As I said before, maybe this is a one off, but I thought I would post here in case anyone else has had a similar experience.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused!

We take the issue very seriously. To further look into it, we'd like to know:

Do you install SKYBOX on your PC and play videos in AirScreen channel? Or do you use SKYBOX Steam version?

In addition, did you put the files in Program file folder or use mklink command to create a soft link to SKYBOX directory?

I had skybox on my PC and used airscreen to view files on my oculus go. I'm unfamiliar with mklink but I had a folder on my external hard drive that skybox was installed to. The files that were deleted were inside the same folder on the external hard drive which is what I'm guessing caused the issue.

(Within my external hard drive (e) there was one folder (1) which contained two folders, one containing the entire Skybox program file, and the other containing all my vr and non vr video files.)

I had everything installed to a hard drive so I could easily transfer between computers as I own multiple. I hope this helps.

Hello,

Please do not add video files in the Program file folder, or in the same folder that SKYBOX was installed to. When you uninstall or upgrade the app, the folder will be cleared as well.

Our developer made some changes in our next PC client update. Later, the folder will not be cleared when you upgrade the app. However, if you uninstall the app, the folder will be deleted automatically.
