[SKYBOX VR] New Update for SKYBOX Windows Client 1.0.0 (AirScreen)

Hi friends,

We just released SKYBOX Windows client 1.0.0(beta-2).

Here’re the improvements in the new version:
· [Optimization] Added support for 200-degree videos.
If you’re using SKYBOX Quest beta 1.1.0, you can watch 200-degree videos via AirScreen.
· [Optimization] Added "clear browsing data" option.
In Settings, you can click the "Clear" button next to "Browsing data" to delete the thumbnails of your videos, thus reducing disk usage.
· [Optimization] Improved the stability in thumbnails recognition process.

PC App crashes when I connect to PC via airscreen

Hi Jake,

Does the app crash when you disable ESET? We tried enabling ESET and found that it may lead to disconnection. But we didn't reproduce the app crashes.

If possible, please reproduce the crash and share with us your log files so we can further check the issue.
 
The log file is located in C:\Users<Your Username>\AppData\Roaming\SKYBOX\logs\application.log.

thumbnails are not loading on quest 2 app after windows client update, please fix this soon, thanks

Hi there,

You can go to C:\Users<Your Username>\AppData\Roaming\SKYBOX, and delete the "data" folder to see if it helps. Check this page to find the "AppData" path.

If you still cannot see the thumbnails, please share with us your file located in C:\Users<Your Username>\AppData\Roaming\SKYBOX\logs\application.log.

200 degree videos still don't work using AirScreen. They're being defaulted to 360 degrees. Also the version that was previously available before this one was already version 1.0.0(beta-2) so there might have been a mistake in the names.

Hello, if you'd like to view 200-degree videos, please make sure the filename contains "MKX200" or "Fisheye_200".

Share with us the filename of your 200-degree video if it's still recognized as VR 360.

Lucy The filenames already include that and are detected as 200 degrees when put on the Quest 2. They just aren't detected as 200 degrees when played over AirScreen using the latest Windows client.

Hello, please right-click the 200-degree video in Windows client, and select "Re-detect VR Type". You can also select "remove" to delete the video and add it again. Let us know if the problem still remains!

Lucy That worked, thank you. I think it would be a good feature to be able re-detect a whole folder of videos instead of one at a time.

I have a usb 3.0 drive connected to PC that seems to cause the app to crash when I try access airscreen. I loaded over 1000 files to the app via the usb drive that seem to have loaded successfully, but the app crashes when I try to enter airscreen. When i deleted all files from the app and just loaded around 200 files from a sata connected drive airscreen worked fine. Any ideas what is causing the app to crash?

I had been using the official version but I keep having video's that say they aren't compatible, wasn't sure why so I updated to the beta to test it out. The beta will not load properly. it's running in taskbar but you can't see the window. however it is running, it's just invisible? I can hover mouse over where the window should be and it knows it's there, and I can even drag files to the area the window "should" be and they will show up, I just can't see it on my desktop.

Windows 10 on the beta version.

Can you share with us a video recording of that problem? And we also appreciate if you can share with us(contact@skybox.xyz) your log files. Log files will help us better check what happened and fix the issues for you ASAP.

You can find the log file in C:\Users<Your Username>\AppData\Roaming\SKYBOX\logs\application.log.

'Clear Invalid Files' Menu doesn't work for me.
I suggest tagging or evaluation or favorite systems for efficient management.
