I just started update 1.0.3 (not beta) on Quest 1. I can no longer use the GRIP button to move 180° video around. You devs have apparently removed the button mapping.
Why? Why do you remove functionality of a button where it makes the most sense? The button is called GRIP button because in VR we use this button to grab stuff and pull it. It's the perfect, natural button to grab and pan the video image. Now I have to un-learn my muscle memory and press A or the trigger to do the same thing.
My biggest issue with Skybox is the lack of user-defined button mappings. Please, give us an options screen where we can define which button does what:
A/X - play/pause? pan video? playback menu?
Trigger - play/pause? pan video? playback menu?
Grip - play/pause? pan video? playback menu?
Then let us simply check the function(s) we want on each button. This way I could finally have what I want:
A/X - play/pause
Trigger - playback menu
Grip - pan video
And other users could still use one button for everything if they wanted to. Give us options!
I can't stand when the video accidentally gets panned when I double-tap A/X to play/pause. The controller will shake when I double-tap, and no, the one-inch threshold you added is not enough to compensate for this. Just please let us have separate buttons for separate functions; we have all these buttons for a reason! Let's use them!
