Hi,
I've just installed the new Beta version on the Oculus Go, and new "Spatial Audio" feature seems to be working well, but unfortunately the video playback is now very choppy on every file I have tested.
I've tried rebooting the Oculus, and I have tested with files stored locally as well as streamed files over the network; the behaviour seems to be the same. Videos that played smoothly in the earlier version now have frequent dropped frames, and the playback in general is extremely jerky. I also tried clearing the cache, but it made no difference.
On the plus side, I am no longer noticing the audio distortion I could sometimes hear in the bass range (although the sound does seem a little bit thinner to my ears - perhaps a lower bitrate?) Also the volume level is very low when playback begins. It seems to take longer than before for the "volume boost" to kick in; between 10 to 15 seconds, I would say.
The audio issues would not be a big problem for me if the video wasn't stuttering so badly, but the constant dropped frames are just too frequent to be usable!
I wonder if the Spatial Audio feature is taking up too much processor power for the Oculus Go?
