Your viewer already supports pictures. I know this because once i renamed the extension of a directory full of pictures to .jpg.mp4 and skybox showed them all. It could be more convenient and support .jpg from the start.
BadAss37 Hi there,
Thank you for reaching out. Yes SKYBOX can support picture format once you add extension of video format to it.
We will bring this feature request up on our coming product meeting. However no promise to develop this function soon because we focus on building the best PLAYER for watching VR videos.
Cheers, Yum
+1 for me. It's the best player I have tested on the Gear vr. If I could also see my jps and mpo pictures on it, I would be so happy.
Anyway, thank you for this excellent player.
kitarolivier Hi there, Support for picture format is in our development plan as we receive many requests regarding this. It is expected to deliver in v0.2.2. Please be patient with us :)
Is there any Update after near 3 Years?
Hello, well done for your application, it is clearly the best for viewing files on a VR headset. The zoom control on the controller and the ease of navigating the video are big pluses! But I would also like to be able to view .jpg files stored on a network? (Even html files would be great for easily creating your own video libraries with menus). When can we already expect a possibility for jpgs? Thanks and sorry for my english i translate 😆
Benjamin Hi there,
Which VR headset do you use?
SKYBOX Quest version 1.1.5 has already supported viewing the images(.JPG) stored on your SMB share and DLNA server. If you'd like to view .JPS and .MPO images, please wait for the next update v1.1.6. Thanks for your understanding and support!
Hello and thank you for your response, I use a Meta Quest 2 VR headset, I can view images stored locally on the headset's hard drive but I cannot view images from my network, (images stored on my computer ) 🙁
Sorry, I was using version 1.1.4 because version 1.1.5 didn't work on my headset initially. But I tried again today to revert to version 1.1.5 and indeed we can finally access the network image!! This is great, thank you very much!! 😄 😄 😄
Feel free to contact us if you have other concerns.
If you like SKYBOX or find our support useful, we'd much appreciate it if you could leave us a good review in Quest store. Your support means a lot to us!
It's great to see that there is jpg support, but each time I try to add a 360 jpg image to the Skybox player on my desktop, it says the files fail. Are 360 pano images that are stitched and exported as jpg supported? I'm not sure why I can't upload them to the desktop client so that I can AirScreen them on my Oculus 2.
Jonathan Hi there,
I'm so sorry that AirScreen(SKYBOX PC/Mac Client) doesn't support adding images now. You can add image files to your SMB share and view the images via SMB. You can also upload the images to Quest local storage and view them locally.
Hope that helps.
