[SKYBOX] Quest 2.0.2 (Preview): Added Support for Frame-Sequential 3D

Hi everyone,

We are excited to announce that our latest beta update now includes support for Frame-Sequential 3D (FS3D)!

FS3D is a powerful format that delivers full-resolution 3D imagery by alternating frames between the left and right eyes. Compared to traditional SBS formats, FS3D offers better image quality and smaller file sizes.

If you want to give it a try, simply ensure your media files are encoded in FS3D, then switch to the beta version 2.0.2. SKYBOX will automatically detect and render them in the correct 3D mode.

Hello, SKYBOX currently doesn't support 2D-to-3D conversion, but we will note down your request for future consideration.

Sorry but when I tried to play a FS3D movie with 2.0.2, it didn't detect it as frame-sequential 3D, and there is no button to set the 3D as such. So how do I watch a movie as FS3D format?
I tried 3 different movies. All were doing the same: viewed as 2D.

Hello, thanks for your feedback!

We are aware that FS3D videos currently cannot be played correctly via AirScreen, DLNA or WebDAV protocol, and our team is actively working on a fix for this.

Local playback and SMB streaming for FS3D files should work without problems.

Hi, just found the reason for the video not working: this MKV header is missing "3D Stereo Mode" setting. Once I set it to "13", it works.
However, the way it works seems strange: it looks like Skybox has convert the FS 1920x1080 frames into 960x1080 frames and put the left and right side by side. Doing like this each frame will lose half of the resolution.
