Skybox 2.0.2 on MQ3 doesn't resume files

Hi there

If I'm watching a local (as in on the MQ3's storage) MKV video and I go out to the main menu, say to change the AA setting or whatever, when I click to go back into the video it always starts again. The video shows a yellow line underneath it with my progress so it clealy knows where I got to but it doesn't seem to honour it when I open it again.

Any ideas?

PS Also it would be really nice if you could create some documentation that explains exacly what AA does, sharpness does, what resolution scale is for and why you might want to choose different refresh rates. Basically to explain what the settings do rather than just saying "you can change AA to 8" or "sharpening to auto". Why might I want to choose auto rather than quality or AA 4 rather than 8? I understand what AA, sharpening etc. is but not why I might want to choose one setting over another.

Regarding the "resume playback" issue, we'd like to confirm: are you watching a normal MKV file or MVC 3D file?

If you are experiencing the issue where MVC 3D files do not resume playback from the last viewed position, it is a known issue and we will attempt to fix it in a future update.

Yes it is a 3D MVC file, that is all I use Skybox VR for really so if those file types don't work then, for me at least, nothing resumes.

I've seen the FAQs but they are "say what it says on the screen" type answers. I know what sharpening does and what AA does but why would I use 2x rather than 8x AA? What is the benefit of Auto vs Quality sharpening? I'm just hoping you could update the FAQ with a bit more detail if possible please?

Another one is what does ProHD do (I've seen the FAQ but "makes it look better" isn't really an answer)? Why would you/wouldn't you use it? Also, all my content runs at 24FPS, is there ever a time that I'd want to not have the refresh set to Auto and maybe set it to 72 or 120? Why is there different levels of resolution scale and why would I want it other than Auto?

I'm a details person so I guess I'm asking for details? 🙂 Just trying to work out the optimum settings for the sort of conent I watch - 4k movies occasionally /1080p 3D movies mainly.

It is a real shame that you can't alter those settings while the content is on the screen so you could see the outcome of different settings.
