Skybox is fantastic for watching movies, but currently, the only way to stream content over a local network is via SMB. This is a major drawback for NAS users who've built extensive home media libraries, as browsing through countless TV series becomes a hassle—there's no visual TV wall or movie metadata to help. Sure, you could access the Jellyfin server through a browser, but the viewing and navigation experience is subpar. For example, fast-forwarding or rewinding requires fiddling with a tiny progress bar instead of simple controller inputs. It'd be a game-changer if Skybox could integrate with Jellyfin or Emby, enabling effortless movie searches, a visually intuitive TV wall, and seamless controller-based playback controls like quick skips forward/backward.

You can switch to SKYBOX v2.0.2(beta version) by following the steps below.

On your Quest 2 or Quest 3, go to Quest Settings > Privacy & safety > Installed app > find SKYBOX VR Video Player > click Release Channels > select "2.0.0 Preview" and install the update.

Then navigate to the "Network" channel, tap the "Add" icon in the upper right corner, and select "Add Emby" or "Add Jellyfin" to access your self-hosted media libraries.

You can move thumbstick left/right to rewind/fast-forward. If you want precise seeking, please go to Global Settings > Playback panel, enable the "Precise Seeking" toggle to fast forward or rewind to the exact frame instead of key frame. Here you can also adjust the skip interval for "Fast-forward/Backward" when pulling the thumbstick.

What's more, this beta version supports searching files by filename. You can quickly locate specific files by clicking the "search" icon in the upper left corner and typing in what you are looking for.
