I've been experimenting with several VR movie players and running into multiple problems, and universally not getting spatial sound working. It's like sitting in a cinema with ear phones in your ears. Ammusingly, I tried asking chatgpt and it said SkyBox VR - that's the only player that gets it right (do you have a deal with them ? 😀 ). So I just bought SkyBox (I don't always do what chatgpt tell me - honestly - but this time... ), and still no spatial sound. Then went back to chatgpt and it started back tracking - "oh, some people say it works and some don't, blah blah.
Anyway, that's fine. SkyBox VR is by far the best player I've tried. Glad I bought a copy. It's one of only two that I've found that actually plays 24p content smoothly. It played my Full SBS movies flawlessly other than the sound. It somehow looks sharper... although I guess it can't be really. Watching movie is actually bearable on the - these days rather low res - Valve Index.
Still, I'd love to get spatial sound working. Any advice. There's supposed to be a toggle. I can't find it. I hope it's not another case where all work is going towards the Quest version.
