While a 2D video is actively playing, you do not see a visual indication of your controllers unless you are pressing a button. This behavior is perfect. However, when playing a 3D/VR video the behavior is different. You always see your controller outlined in the display, even when you are not pressing a button. This is very distracting, especially when in VR because seeing the controller pulls you out of "VR immersion" so you no longer feel immersed in the scene. To work around this, I have to physically put my controller behind my body so that I can no longer see it (unless I turn around) but obviously this is inconvenient when I need to actually use my controller.
Desired functionality: Please make the visual representation of the controller the SAME as in 2D playback, no matter the mode of the video you are playing. That is, during video playback, always hide both controllers and the visual pointing cues unless a button is actively being pressed on the controller. That would help very much in maintaining the feeling of VR immersion! Thank you!
The version of SKYBOX VR I am using is v1.1.8 from my Steam VR library. (My headset is a Quest 2, but I'm using the PC Link feature and the Steam VR app, so I don't think the headset matters in this case.)
