USB tethering support for AirScreen

Airscreen is great, but sometimes a reliable wifi connection is not available, so I was wondering if it would be possible to make it work via USB tethering with an Android phone? I wondered if it should actually work already, since with the tether established, there is a network connection to the PC, but Skybox on the phone cannot detect the PC that way.

Hi, tony72, did you use one Android phone to created USB tethering and use the same phone to try to connect the PC? If you use this way, I think it would probably not work. If you have two phone, you can try this way: 1. Use one phone to create a personal hotspot. 2. Connect the other phone(VR device) and PC to the same hotspot wifi. Then you can find the PC and stream videos with AirScreen.

Shin Yes, I was trying to use PC to one phone. I have seen some applications like the VRidge (https://riftcat.com/vridge) VR software can stream video from PC to phone over USB tether, and it works great, so I thought it might be possible with AirScreen. But probably it's not as easy as I thought.

tony72 I think VRidge's feature is great and very useful sometimes. But we used different technology to realized those features. To use AirScreen to stream videos need devices under a local area network(LAN), which created by whatever a router or a mobile phone and whether with or without an Internet connection. So it doesn't work for streaming via the USB tethering for now. But anyway, we will do some research on that way and may develop the similar feature in the future. Thank you for your feedback!
