  • [SKYBOX VR] Quest v1.1.5: Supported YouTube videos, Network images, and more

Dear friends,

We have a new update coming to Quest store. It brings a number of highly requested features along with some fixes and improvements. Details can be found below!

What's new in v1.1.5:

  • Supported watching YouTube videos
  • Supported viewing Network images
  • Added presentation mode
  • Improved file/folder name recognition
  • Modified 3D Full-SBS Matching function

YouTube channel is now available for you to view and search for more video content in SKYBOX VR. Meanwhile, SKYBOX now supports viewing images stored in your SMB share and DLNA server as requested.

We also added back the Presentation Mode in this version. When you turn on "Presentation Mode" (like Kiosk mode) in Global Settings, videos will automatically play from the beginning everytime you put on your headset. Please note that if you put on the headset quickly after putting it off (less than 5 seconds), the video may start from where you left off.

We also improved the file/folder name recognition. If your file name or folder name contains the following key words, SKYBOX will automatically recognize the video as corresponding stereo mode.

        Can I use the left and right joystick to switch to the next SMB image instead of automatically switching at time. Also, can I switch between images without popping up a control bar.

          我的Quest2,使用目前的最新版本,比如看斗破苍穹,开幕画面的黑色,还有任何画面的黑色,都有很严重的色块现象,我以为是我屏幕坏了,但是我更换4XVR播放器,发现完全没有这个问题(我发现了,是开启视频高清画质导致的,开启后黑颜色全部变成大色带色块了,其他颜色正常)

                Hi Ted,

                I'm so sorry, the previous naming rules will not work for the new version. Please contain the exact same key words in the above table, then SKYBOX will automatically recognize the video as corresponding stereo mode. Thank you for your understanding.

                            若您想切回v1.1.4版本，可参考以下步骤切换版本：

                            1. 通过手机端 Meta Quest 应用或网页登录 Quest 商店，访问 SKYBOX VR Player 应用详情界面
                            2. 确保您已登录 Facebook/Meta 账号，然后点击“版本”旁的下拉菜单，选择“v1.1.4 Release: 1.1.4”
                            3. 带上头显，卸载重装应用

                                What is the naming rule for full SBS?

                                  Hi there, the current version doesn't have a naming rule for Full SBS file. We'll add a naming rule for Full SBS file in the next big update v1.1.6. Thank you for your understanding and support!

                                      Hey guys, I want to leave the same comment I left in the other thread. Thank you so much for working on this for us - it is amazing and I really appreciate all your work!

                                      I also would like this feature but would want to be able to zoom in and out. For volume, this doesn't interest me and there is a button on the oculus itself that can be used for this.
                                      I would also like the ability to change the amount of seconda in-between each image.
                                      And also, yes. Have an option to not show the search bar when a new image loads.

                                          Good work! I updated to v1.1.5 from v.1.1.2 and see that the menu/UI no longer pops up when going to the next video. 😄
                                          Now the same change needs to be done for slideshows of images 😆

                                                A feature of manually going next/previous image through the controller or gestures is required.

                                                      Hope you're doing well!

                                                      In the new beta v1.1.6, the control bar will not pop up when you switch between images. You can switch to beta v1.1.6 and test it out.

                                                      The steps to switch channels:

                                                      1. Visit SKYBOX VR Player product detail page with browser or Meta Quest mobile app. (Make sure you login to your Facebook/Meta account)
                                                      2. Click "Version" and select "v1.1.6 Release: 1.1.6"
                                                      3. Uninstall and reinstall SKYBOX on your Quest.
