[SKYBOX VR] Quest BETA v1.1.3: Support image format, Quick Access and more

Hey friends,

SKYBOX v1.1.3 (BETA) is now available in Quest store! You can switch the channel in Quest store to have early access. A beta version for SKYBOX Mac/Windows Client 1.1.0 is also released to solve AirScreen connection issues.

What's new in SKYBOX Quest v1.1.3:
[Feature] Added support for image format
[Optimization] Added Quick Access channel to show pinned folders
[Optimization] Turn on/off network viewing history in Global Settings(When you turn it off, network history will be cleared automatically after a restart.)
[Optimization] Optimized UI animation

This version only supports viewing images(.PNG, .JPG, .JPEG, .BMP) from Quest internal storage. If you’d like to view images from SMB server, DLNA server, or AirScreen(SKYBOX Windows/Mac Client), please stay tuned for future updates.

Regarding SKYBOX Mac/Windows Client 1.1.0(BETA), we've made some significant changes:

We turned SKYBOX Client into a DLNA media server and fixed some AirScreen connection issues. You can find the Client in both Network channel and AirScreen channel if you use SKYBOX v1.1.3 on your Quest device. Note: if you use SKYBOX v1.1.2 on your Quest device, you can only find it in Network channel.
We changed the file/folder management strategy. If you added a folder to SKYBOX Client, it will automatically detect the newly added files in the folder when you re-fresh/re-enter the folder. Meanwhile, if you added a folder to SKYBOX Client, you can only delete the whole folder. You're not able to delete a particular file in that folder in SKYBOX client.
The new Client will not inherit the database from the previous versions, which means you have to re-add files/folders.

To use SKYBOX v1.1.3(BETA):

Go to Quest Store via webpage or Meta Quest phone app, and find SKYBOX VR Player. (Make sure you login your Facebook/Meta account)
Scroll down and you'll find "Language", "Version", "Developer", etc.
Click on the down arrow sign next to “Version” and select "v1.1.3 Beta: 1.1.3" 
Uninstall and reinstall SKYBOX on your Quest 2.

Tried out v1.1.3 beta on my Quest 2 v51. Some AVI and most WMV files playback with no video - audio only. Used to playback with video and audio in previous versions of Skybox. Although in previous version some AVI files playback at speeded up framerate with audio playback speed unchanged. Will need to further examine for this behavior in v1.1.3.

Suggestion on image viewing: allow setting for image duration with minimum of one second. And option to shuffle playback order.

We reproduced the black screen(audio only) issue with some particular AVI and WMV files. And we'll fix it in the next few updates. To confirm the behavior is caused by the same bug, we hope you can share with us(contact@skybox.xyz) the logs or a AVI/WMV file.

To send logs, you just need to click SKYBOX's Global Settings(the gear icon), click the BUG icon in the upper-right corner, and send us a bug report attached with logs(tick the "upload logs" box).

Besides, you CAN change the Loop settings to Shuffle. Please check this FAQ article.

Regarding the suggestion on image viewing, we'll have a discussion.

The new image viewing is great but it should have an option for users to immediately play next image by using the controller.

Lucy I started Skybox earlier today to send the log and there was a small update. When I tried the AVI and WMV files the video played so I guess the bug fix worked.

I cleared all the media off my headset because of some glitches with Meta Gallery on the phone app so I can't test the picture viewer right now. As I recall the problem is that there is no advanced settings available on the menu in the picture viewer and it seemed to me the pictures were playing in order despite that I had set "shuffle" in the advanced settings in the video player.

Hello, I can't find how to download the beta on the headset or Meta Quest app. It doesn't show the option to change version.
I FOUND IT:
In the Meta Quest app, go to Skybox, scroll down to More Information and press it, press on the version number and you should be able to change the channel.

About 90% of my videos are not being recognized as VR format after this update, is this a known issue?

Hello, Do you use version 1.1.3 or version 1.1.4? Please click Global Settings and turn on Show FPS to check the version number.

Lucy Hey, I am on 1.1.4. The issue is occasional, and often goes away after hard restarting the app a few times.
