Files on the PC side locked.

I think this conern is not a bug and the request is nor a new feature. But it's very important and I had never have this situation before v1.1.1.

I always stream videos from PC to my Quest through SMB and manage video files on my PC. Since upgrade to v1.1.1, all the files which just have been played by Skybox cannot be renamed or removed on the PC side. Sometimes playing other files and clear the history could unlock the files, but it didn't always work. Please help solve this situation. Thanks!

Thank you for your feedback!

SKYBOX will only read the files when it is running. It will not change file properties. When the app is reading the files(such as playing files, loading thumbnails, and etc.), you're not able to delete the files on your PC.

If you want to edit/remove the files, please quit the app on your VR headset first. If you still can't remove the files after closing SKYBOX, you can restart your PC or SMB server. Maybe there are some bugs in the server side.

This situation did happened since the upgrading of v1.1.1. And once The file had been played, it can't be renamed or removed until one or several other files has been opened. I think it's something to do with the new Skybox. It's very likely that opening a file without closing it.

In my recall, colse Skybox didn't works every time. I'll find some more regular symptoms and report to you later.

Today, I received the v1.1.2 update and play it around for a while. The locking-file concern seems much better and more reasonable. Instead of locking some files persistently, now only the last-played file would be locked.

I'm sure Skybox never lock anyfile before v1.1.1, I guess maybe it have something to do with memorising last-playing file position feature or something like that .
