If videos are playing fine one day but freezing constantly or not loading at all when streaming from your PC to your Quest 2, the problem might be that your PC wi-fi adapter is set to Dual Band. I changed this setting to 5 GHz and it fixed the problem. Here are the steps to do so:
- Open Windows Device Manager.
- In the Network adapters section, right click on your wifi adapter (e.g. Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165).
- Select Properties from the pop-up menu.
- Select the Advanced tab from the Properties window.
- In the Properties list, highlight "802.11a/b/g Wireless Mode".
- In the dropdown list on the right side, choose the 5GHz 802.11a option if available and hit Ok.
Changing this setting may have unintended consequences for other parts of your network so do so at your own discretion.
Please leave a comment if you know of a solution that allows you to keep using the Dual Band setting while maintaining a 5 GHz connection with the Quest 2. I think that would be a more optimal solution. Thanks.
