Hi there,

Unfortunately the app doesn't open for me! It shows the initial splash screen and then crashes.

It seems like automatic VR mode detection (side-by-side, top-bottom, etc.) doesn't work, at least for videos on DLNA. I have lots of videos from different origins and none worked. Is this supposed to work on iOS yet?

How about the filename-based mode detection feature?

Hi,

We do not have recognition on DLNA yet, but we will be adding the name recognition to DLNA soon.
One of our previous versions did have the heat issue, please check if your SKYBOX is the latest version.

Also, I noticed significant slowdown (on iPhone 7) after only a few minutes of use. It looks like the iPhone is doing thermal throttling, which never occurred with Mobile VR Station (another VR player app which has been available for a long time).

Pretty amazing for an alpha release, looking forward to future updates! I'm trying out the new app on my iPhone X and it seems like after a few minutes of viewing VR files, if I have the brightness turned up high, the brightness will suddenly drop to about half and stay there. If I look at the Control Center, the brightness setting there is still at max, but it's definitely dimmer in SkyBox. Is this hardware throttling or power management kicking in? I also have the app running on a GearVR with a Samsung S7 and the motion tracking is considerably coarser on the iOS version.

Hi,

We have tested iOS version, we did not experience the brightness drop you mentioned
It might be possible that the True Tone and Auto Brightness are affecting the screen automatically.
Try turn off True Tone in your display setting and see if this issue is still there.

Andy That was it! Disabled both True Tone and Auto Brightness and the dimming stopped. Thanks!

Excellent app. Some hanging and crashing here and there but works fine overall on the iPhone.

I had a little issue playing most videos from my Plex DLNA share but managed to fix it using a custom Plex DLNA profile.
