I'm starting this thread as I ran into an issue playing 5k h265 180 videos on Skybox. They would stutter and lag and make for an unpleasant experience. I noticed this issue also occurred in other video players, but once I enabled DirectPlay / Direct3D 11 playback the issue went away entirely. When I peruse the options menu in Skybox VR I do not see any sort of mode to switch playback options. While I can play these videos in other players like Virtual Desktop and DeoVR, the interface and controls leave a lot to be desired. I also need to use a DLNA server for DeoVR which I prefer not to do as I already run a Plex server for pancake Films only which I like to keep as is so I don't have to fiddle with it constantly.
Can anyone recommend a solution to continue using Skybox for these kinds of videos or will I need to wait until better support is added? The interface and network support is ideal for me, but if it doesn't work 100% of the time that's kind of a deal breaker.
